Guitar Moves finally has its own official channel on YouTube — along with the return of its fan-favourite interview with Keith Richards
Finally, some great wonderful news for the guitarist community.
The Noisey show “Guitar Moves” presented by Matt Sweeney has finally found its new home on its very own channel on YouTube.
Like most other guitarists, I had become a big fan of the program when it first premiered several years ago on Noisey’s YouTube channel.
I became particularly interested in it largely because of Sweeney’s two-part interview with Keith Richards in 2015, which offered up newfound personal insight on the famous Rolling Stones guitarist and his own perception of his craft. In addition, it was also presented in an atmosphere that more felt like a casual conversation between friends than a formal press conference.
Then a few years later, for whatever reason, it seemed that the interview had vanished from YouTube.
I was very disappointed when I discovered that it had been taken down from YouTube, considering it was my favourite interview of Mr. Richards and that I used to routinely rewatched it whenever I needed to find inspiration and reignite my love of guitar.
And several years went by until earlier this afternoon when, lo and behold, I was scouring the Internet for more Keith Richards interviews and voila, the beloved film magically reappeared in its entirety.
This brand spanking new Guitar Moves channel — only three months old at the time of writing this — was a delightful discovery. Not only is the Keith Richards interview once again publicly available on YouTube, but it is available along with an archive of past interviews with insights from other brilliant guitarists — including Ace Frehley from Kiss, Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top and St. Vincent.
And by the looks of it, it seems that there will be more exciting material coming in the future from Sweeney and his team, including an interview with Cass McComb being released tomorrow as of writing this.
This is all incredibly exciting and I’m looking forward to more great guitar-related content in the future.
